Disclosure: This post is brought to you by FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam.  As always, all opinions are 100% mine.

I am officially on vacation for a week and it is the kids’ last day of school!  I’m pretty sure I am more excited than the kids! 🙂

Before I head off on a little break though, I have one last Christmas project to share with you!  I know you are all probably super short on time right about now, so I promise that this one can be done in less than 20 minutes.

Joy sign made from Styrofoam and thumb tacks.
Materials

  • FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam block  {mine was 11.5 x17 inches}
  • FloraCraft® Wired Burlap Ribbon
  • black wrapping paper
  • thumb tacks
  • glue
  • faux greenery or other embellishments

Make a sign with Styrofoam and thumb tacks.Directions

  • Wrap the Styrofoam block with black wrapping paper just like you are wrapping a present.  Pull the edges as taut as possible.
  • Outline your word out lightly in pencil onto the paper.  Push the thumb tacks in along your outline.

  • Cut a piece of the FloraCraft® Wired Burlap Ribbon and tie a bow in the middle.  Glue the ends of the ribbon to the back of your sign to secure.
  • Add embellishments {optional}.  I added some faux pine garland and a couple of pine cones that I had left over from my Christmas decor.  I glued a pine cone to a couple of sprigs of the garland and just stuck the wire garland directly into the Styrofoam.

Really this could be adapted to any season, holiday or special event. 🙂

      You could just wrap it up in pink paper and then add whatever saying you would like with the tacks. Silver tacks might look nice too. Happy Birthday to your daughter! 🙂
